Well it certainly is not yet. We still have items on Ebay for auction. There are Pike flies from Dave Lindsay, Framed Irish Dabblers from Lawrence Finney and now ANOTHER RAFFLE !!!
I have been given a LAW vice of the winners choice to raffle. So if you have always wanted a chance to own one but found the price a little heavy , or delivery a bit too long well here it is. Lawrence Waldron the creator of undoubtedly the finest fly-tying vice on the planet has donated one to Casting for Recovery to raffle off.
Tickets are available here and are priced at £10 each. There will be a limit of 250 tickets and each person that enters is limited to TEN tickets. The draw will be made when all tickets have been sold and not before so you could have a week to wait for the draw or longer.We will put a date to draw it on when we see what the reaction is.

So there you go folks. Tying season is about to get under way and what better than tying next years patterns on the century’s most desirable tying vice?
You KNOW it makes sense to have a go. And to own a vice that is used by pretty much all the tyers on the demo circuit and the discerning tyers amongst us mere mortals would be the icing on a few Christmas cakes I think . To be in a position to have one in your kit for just £10 is a deal you have to try.

.. The Wonderful WizardS of Trentham Gardens.

Its thursday night, I am getting “stuff” together and on Friday we will be heading North to see the boys and girls of the BFFI mob. Oh and getting set up ready for my 25 hour tying marathon.

It’s for charity you know. A brilliant charity that supports breast cancer sufferers through fly fishing. This is my third year trying to get money to help their cause and this year is even more pertinent. My mother had breast cancer 10 years ago and the hospitals sorted it out. Then it came back as Lymphedema this March with another tumour and sadly there is nothing that can be done for mom this time around. So she is at home and we are waiting for the inevitable to happen. When that will be we don’t know but I can only praise the quality of care she is getting right now from the doctors, nurses and carer’s of Powys NHS trust.
So there you go. If you are at the BFFI this weekend come and throw some money in the pot, buy a cake (VERY VERY SCRUMSHUSH) or buy a raffle ticket for one of over 50 prizes. All the money goes to Casting for Recovery and I would love to give them a big fat cheque please.
